This quilt is made by embroidering carious scales of petal or leaf pattern shapes over the whole quilt using a contrasting flat chain stitch embroidery. This results in the pattern being the same on the front and back while the fabric differs. The shams (available seperately) are of the same pattern and scale and have a coordinating solid cotton back. That back is also shared by the quilt. The back of the sham has a split opening for ease of filling.
